Compassionate Family Law Representation

If it were a good time in your life, you wouldn’t be reading this. Your life is unraveling and you need help. During this trying time, you need someone who understands both your emotional and legal needs. Our firm understands those needs and how to protect your interests. Let us do so, because you probably aren’t thinking very clearly at the moment, which is completely understandable.

You may have many questions and may not know exactly what type of representation you need, as there are many different aspects and areas of family law. Most commonly, people need representation for a divorce or custody dispute. However, you may need to file a paternity action or seek contempt for violation of previous orders. Let us explain how we can help.

If you are thinking of getting a divorce, talk to us about your options. We can inform you about both general and specific matters as pertains to family law, custody, and you. You need to know your options and we will be happy to advise you. More importantly, we will be happy to be not just your attorney, but your counselor. Although we do this every day, we understand that you do not.

Unfortunately, we can’t bring a quick end to your troubles. Even if you and your spouse agree to a divorce and its terms, Mississippi law requires that a divorce be on file for sixty days before it can be signed by a judge. In other words, you have to wait two months even if you have things worked out. For contested divorces, things may take quite a bit longer. Fortunately, we can move quickly and temporarily relieve some of your troubles, but seeing a contested divorce through trial can take some time and considerable emotional expense. We are here for you and will aggressively protect you and your interests. We will make sure that you receive what is yours and that your children are protected.

Mississippi Divorce Law

State law requires a divorce to be on file for 60 days before being signed by a judge. Contested divorces may take longer. During this time, we will be there as your attorney and a friend.
